Spring is in the Air

Spring is finally around the corner! It has been such a long and bitterly cold winter here in Missouri! I went home this past weekend and had a great time enjoying the outdoors! The crocuses are already beginning to bloom in the yard! So exciting!



Also when I went home for the weekend I had lunch over at Mammy and Pappy's house with all of my aunts and my sister! It was quite exquisite with Pappy as the head chef and all! While I was there I also received a framed print of a tiger painting...Pappy said it reminded him of the Mizzou Tigers so he gave it to me to hang in my room! It is really neat!

True/False Film Festival

So this weekend was the True/False Film Festival. This is basically where film directors film either a documentary or a mock-umentary (a fake documentary) and it is the judges job to find out whether each film was 100% true or 100% false. After each film the directors had to get up on stage and each of the three judges got to ask them one question about their film and see if it sways their T/F decision. Steve and his friend entered a film and they made it into the top 10. These films were shown to the judges last night at the Blue Note downtown. It was fun to see all of the entries. Some of them were very tricky! It was super hard to tell if they were true or false! Steve's film was about his friend Lucas and how he knows all these people who had crazy experiences! It was called "One Degree of Separation"! His film was 100% true and he was able to trick all of the judges! He didn't win the 1st place prize money, but he did get a cute little robot man trophy! It was a fun evening! To celebrate we went to Steak 'n' Shake afterward! :)

Tonight I picked up my friend Meghan from her apartment and we went to this place called the Underground Cafe (AKA The Artisan)! It was nice to catch up with each other! Even though we live in the same apartment complex, we are both hard working and very busy students and rarely saw each other last semester! We had a lovely chat while sharing freshly made spinach artichoke dip! I sipped on a vanilla latte while she enjoyed an apple cider beer! It was a good time! We are going to try and get together every week or so! She is an awesome person! I am glad we met! :)

My Little Medicine Bag

I went home this past weekend to visit my family. I ended up spending almost my entire Saturday at the Walgreen's Clinic. As it turns out I have a massive sinus infection, mostly in my ears. They are completely filled with fluid! I started taking an antibiotic on Saturday so hopefully I will be back to normal really soon! When I got back to Columbia on Sunday evening Margaret had a surprise waiting for me! While I was away her mom sent her a Valentine's Day package for us! We each got a pretty beaded medicine bag! It is perfect timing since I am on so many different medicines for my sinus infection! :) It was so sweet of her! I love it! I hope everyone had a good weekend! I did, even though I was sick throughout most of it!

My Friend Meghan's 21st Birthday

Last night I went out to celebrate my friend Meghan's 21st birthday! I met her here at Mizzou! We had a class together during my first semester here! She is so much fun! We went out to dinner at Addisons restaurant! I bought her and I an Ultimate Cosmo shot! They were tasty! Then we went on over to the Penguin Piano Bar! It was really fun! There were two awesome piano players and they could sing too! They played and sang a lot of Elton John and Billie Joel! It was an EXCELLENT evening!

Valentine's Day 2010

I had a great Valentine's Day! It was more like a Valentine's weekend! On Sunday Steve took me out to lunch and then to see a movie at the Rag Tag! It is an old vintage movie theater downtown that usually plays independent films! It is neat! I hope everyone else is having an AWESOME Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Surprise

I got a DOZEN red roses, along with baby's breath! They are so beautiful and smell so good! I also got a teddy bear and a box of really yummy chocolates! It was such a surprise! I have the BEST boyfriend EVER! He said there is another surprise to come on Sunday! :) So exciting!

I got him some boxes of his favorite candies and a really cute card! He loved it!

I also got an AWESOME surprise from my mom! She ordered me Hot Box Cookies! It is this place that delivers hot cookies in a box like pizza! They are so yummy! I got a variety of different kinds! :)
