A Free Weekend
The Silverscreen Film Festival was this weekend! Steve directed a film for it. For those of you who do not know what the Silverscreen Film Festival is, it was established in 2008 and originally featured students from the University of Missouri and Stephens College. In 2009, without any additional marketing, Silverscreen expanded to four institutions in Missouri – University of Missouri, Stephens College, William Woods University and Truman State University. This year there were thirteen films entries. On Friday night they had a screening of all thirteen films. It was so much fun to see all the other people's film ideas. On top of that, everything there was free! They had free popcorn, raffle tickets and ice cream! I won a free t-shirt from the raffle drawing! :) Steven's film won "Best Drama" and he received a gift bag of all sorts of free stuff! Right next door to the film festival was a free activity called "Beading Bonanza"! They had free drinks, Shakespeare's Pizza, and tables of free supplies to make any type of jewelry you wanted! It was so neat! Margaret and I each made a bracelet! It was fun!

Saturday during the day Karlee, Margaret and I decided to take a walk in a park! The weather was so nice, and not too hot! We had a great time! The trails were so pretty with the fresh green leaves of spring and a ton of wild flowers!

Beautiful Weather
The past few days have been gorgeous here in Columbia Missouri! I spent each day of my weekend in a different park! On Friday my friend Megan and I went to the Hinkson Creek Trail across the street from where we live! We took a nice long walk and played in the creek as well! It was nice and relaxing!

Friday night I went to a birthday party for one of Steve's friends. It was fun! I didn't think I would know hardly anyone there and was surprised to see my friend Olivia! It was cool getting to spend some time with her!

Saturday Karlee, Margaret, Karlee's friend Bridget and I all spent the day at Stephen's Lake park! We brought games, drinks, and food! Later in the evening Steve showed up and we made a bonfire and cooked hot dogs and s'mores! So yummy!
Sunday afternoon my aunt and uncle were in town visiting Karlee! They came by and picked me up and we all went to The Upper Crust for lunch and then for a walk at Rock Bridge park! We also went to see some baby horses that Karlee helps out with during the week! They were all so cute!

I am looking forward to watch Glee tonight! :)

Spring Break
I can't believe that spring break is already over! The week went by so fast! I had a nice time! I got to spend lots of time with my family and friends! I was able to hang out with my friend Gina this past week! We went out to lunch and were able to catch up with each other! It was fun! Laura and I were also able to hang out with Natalie Hahn! We always have so much fun together! Overall break was awesome! I got to relax, sit outside in my yard and enjoy the nice weather!
Easter was great! My mom got me a personalized lunch box with my name on it! It is so cute and I can't wait to use it! Steven and Zack were both able to make it to our family Easter gathering at Susan's house! Luckily we had excellent weather Easter weekend! Mammy had the egg drawing for prizes! I won a pretty flower pot and a cute little angle doll decoration! I found great places for both in my apartment!

I was so surprised when I got back to my apartment to see leaves on the tree next to my porch and all the mulch the landscapers put down! It looks really nice! Oh and I bought a bamboo wind chime for my porch! I like hearing it because it reminds me of home!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend! Only 5 more weeks of school left before I graduate!!! :)

A wonderful, but unseasonably cold weekend
I had a great weekend! Thursday night Steve and I went out with our friends Dane and Sheila to a comedy club! The comedian was super funny!

Friday was so nice! I spent my time cleaning off my porch and putting out the spring decorations. Steve and I took a walk on the nature trail across the street! On Friday evening I met my friend Jillian at one of our favorite coffee houses. Melissa Bowers, a girl who I haven't seen since high school was on spring break and happened to be in town! It was nice getting to see her again! We had a great time chatting about what we have all been up to the past few years!

On Saturday Mammy and Pappy came to visit Karlee and I here in Columbia! Of course the day they come in town it is only a high of 37 degrees and snowing of all things! But we worked around the weather and still had a great time! I took them to one of the most popular sandwich places here in town called Pickleman's. Then when Karlee got off work we picked her up and all went out to dinner at The Rome downtown! It was so yummy! Mammy and Pappy really enjoyed it! After dinner we hit up Broadway Brewery and Mammy, Pappy and Karlee each had a beer! :) We all had a very nice time!

Spring is in the Air
Spring is finally around the corner! It has been such a long and bitterly cold winter here in Missouri! I went home this past weekend and had a great time enjoying the outdoors! The crocuses are already beginning to bloom in the yard! So exciting!

Also when I went home for the weekend I had lunch over at Mammy and Pappy's house with all of my aunts and my sister! It was quite exquisite with Pappy as the head chef and all! While I was there I also received a framed print of a tiger painting...Pappy said it reminded him of the Mizzou Tigers so he gave it to me to hang in my room! It is really neat!

I hope everyone else had a splendid weekend and are enjoying this pleasant weather forecast!

True/False Film Festival
So this weekend was the True/False Film Festival. This is basically where film directors film either a documentary or a mock-umentary (a fake documentary) and it is the judges job to find out whether each film was 100% true or 100% false. After each film the directors had to get up on stage and each of the three judges got to ask them one question about their film and see if it sways their T/F decision. Steve and his friend entered a film and they made it into the top 10. These films were shown to the judges last night at the Blue Note downtown. It was fun to see all of the entries. Some of them were very tricky! It was super hard to tell if they were true or false! Steve's film was about his friend Lucas and how he knows all these people who had crazy experiences! It was called "One Degree of Separation"! His film was 100% true and he was able to trick all of the judges! He didn't win the 1st place prize money, but he did get a cute little robot man trophy! It was a fun evening! To celebrate we went to Steak 'n' Shake afterward! :)
